Yucaipa, San Bernardino County
San Gorgonio Mountain, at 11,503 feet the highest peak in Southern California, stands northeast of Yucaipa and often carries snow into late spring. The Crafton Hills, a lower ridge with public trails, separate the city from Redlands, and a community college named for them opened on their slopes in 1972. Wildwood Canyon, on the east side, is preserved as a state park.
